In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the Software or the use or other dealings in the Software.
Cardwave stores data exclusively on your local device (via your file system or browser IndexedDB). We do not backup, sync, or transmit your character cards, chat logs, or configurations to any centralized servers. You are solely responsible for backing up your own data. The authors shall not be held liable for any loss of data, accidental deletion, or file corruption.
Cardwave is a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) application. You are entirely responsible for procuring and managing your own API keys for third-party AI services (e.g., OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic) or local model servers.
The authors of Cardwave have no control over the API usage, the tokens consumed, or the billing of these third-party services. You are solely responsible for monitoring your API usage and paying any associated costs, fees, or charges incurred while using the Software.
Cardwave does not collect, harvest, or transmit any user data, chat histories, character definitions, or API keys. All network requests made by the Software to AI providers are made directly from your device to the configured provider.
The authors of Cardwave do not monitor, moderate, or take responsibility for the content generated by AI models or the character cards imported into the Software. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of the Software complies with the terms of service of their chosen AI provider and any applicable local laws.
Cardwave is an independent application written entirely in Dart/Flutter. However, its design and functionality draw heavy inspiration from the ideas and features pioneered by the SillyTavern project. Additionally, specific UI chat themes and color palettes used within this application are visually adapted from SillyTavern and Moonlit Echoes. We gratefully acknowledge these projects and their creators for their foundational work and inspiration.
